Silver Tips Tea is a highly sought-after, exotic grade of Ceylon white tea, known for its
organic quality. Carefully sourced from a tea gardens in the Kandy region of Sri Lanka, it
is also referred to as Silver Needles tea. This premium grade is produced in limited
quantities, as it is made from the buds or tips of a specific tea plant variety. On average,
only 8 to 10 leaves can be harvested from one plant per month. These buds are
carefully hand-plucked and dried in direct sunlight to retain their silver colour. The
natural processing method preserves the tea's appearance and maximises its
antioxidant properties, making it a popular choice for health-conscious consumers.
Consequently, it is one of the most expensive varieties of Ceylon tea.
This tea produces a very light liquor with a pale, white-copper infusion. It offers a subtle
taste with slight notes of pine and honey, accompanied by a unique fragrance that is
characteristic of this tea.
